Earthquakes in Venezuela

In the face of disaster, we turn to God with sorrow and hope. We pray for those who lost their lives, for those who are missing, for their families, friends, and for all impacted by these tragic earthquakes. We pray, too, for the rescue workers and for those offering help and healing. May they have the strength to continue their efforts.

WASHINGTON – “As rescue efforts are underway, I urge the international community to mobilize in support of the Venezuelan people, and to send the necessary humanitarian assistance to alleviate their suffering,” said Bishop A. Elias Zaidan, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on International Justice and Peace.

Bishop Zaidan’s statement follows:

“In the wake of the devastating earthquakes that have impacted Venezuela, causing significant loss of life and severe destruction, I offer the prayers and solidarity of the Church in the United States to our sisters and brothers affected by this tragedy.

“As rescue efforts are underway, I urge the international community to mobilize in support of the Venezuelan people, and to send the necessary humanitarian assistance to alleviate their suffering. Catholic Relief Services, the international relief agency of the Church in the United States, and its partner Caritas Venezuela, are already responding and assessing needs at this early stage. We understand the U.S. government is readying an initial response and appreciate their partnership in responding to this natural disaster.

“Let us all join in prayer that Our Lady of Coromoto, patroness of Venezuela, will comfort and protect her children and that compassionate international assistance will arrive swiftly.”

Through Catholic Relief Services, the U.S. bishops are coordinating relief efforts to support the people of Venezuela as they recover from the horrific disaster.

St. Anne Commemorative Rosary

The ladies of the St. Anne Rosary Guild lovingly craft beautiful rosaries to commemorate Holy Communion, Baptism, Confirmation and Mother's Day. Many have semi-precious stones with relics from St. Teresa, San Pio, water from Lourdes, and terra de Fatima. Our supplies come mainly from Italy. These are specialty rosaries unique to our guild.

This year we have crafted a rosary to commemorate the Centennial Anniversary of St. Anne Church. This rosary is crafted with green shamrock beads, and is available as a small or large rosary. These rosaries sold out quickly at our April sale.

Mystery Painting

We have a little mystery to solve! A long time parishioner purchased a painting of  St. Anne Catholic Church from the Catholic Thrift Shop about a year ago. We are wondering who is the artist? Was he or she a parishioner here? A St. Anne School student, perhaps? Can any of you help us find more information about this painting? Please email Julie Lorenz at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you have any information about this painting.

Commemorative Bricks and Pavers Program

Buy a Brick... Leave a Legacy

The final phase of our Generations of Faith project is the completion of several commemorative walkways throughout our parish campus. We are excited to offer our parishioners, school families, alumni, ministry groups and community partners the opportunity to support St. Anne with the purchase of commemorative bricks.

Funds raised from these pavers will help us successfully conclude the campaign and fully fund the new parish facilities. Commemorative pavers are a great way to honor your family, memorialize a loved one or pay tribute to a person or ministry that has touched your life. Your paver will be engraved with the name or phrase of your choice and will become a lasting tribute of your commitment to St. Anne and those we serve.

There are many ways to be part of the commemorative walkway and leave your legacy:

Memorial Bricks

You can choose to purchase a brick to memorialize a deceased loved one. Memorial bricks are a wonderful way to honor family members and friends who have died, while creating a lasting tribute to their life.

Students and Alumni

School families and alumni can engrave their brick or paver with their graduation year. Bricks can also be dedicated to members of the faculty and staff – past and present – who have impacted students’ lives.

Ministries, Organizations and Businesses

You can engrave the name of your ministry, organization or business on a paver. There is no additional charge for this, but all copy must be approved before engraving.

Inspirational

You can engrave a brick or paver with your favorite scripture verse, quote from a saint, prayer or spiritual saying. You may also dedicate bricks to a special person or group. We reserve the right to edit all copy before engraving.

Bricks

Bricks will be included in one of the new commemorative walkways on our parish campus. Each custom engraved brick will be 4 inches by 8 inches and include 3 lines of type with 20 characters in each line. Donors who have given $250 or more at any point in the campaign may request one complimentary brick in recognition of their generosity. Click the button below to place your order.

Pavers

Larger pavers (8” x 8”) are also available for $500. Pavers include 6 lines of type with 20 characters in each line; each letter, number and space equals one character.

Click here to order a brick or paver

How Can We Help?

If you have any questions or need assistance when ordering your pavers, please contact the parish office at 713.526.3276 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Your continued support means so much to those we serve – thank you!
