St. Monica Moms

The Saint Monica Moms ministry provides fellowship and support for mothers and expectant mothers by offering opportunities for spiritual growth, social interaction, and service activities.  We strive to welcome moms of all ages and stages of motherhood with a focus on raising families focused on growing their commitment to Christ.  We also seek to promote themes and discussions that help moms flourish in their family life, work, and homes in order to help mothers become the best version of themselves.  Please consider this ministry if you are looking for a community of mothers to grow in friendship and faith with, all while juggling everything else life requires of moms!

For both working and stay-at-home moms, some of the activities and events include: Moms & Tots weekly playgroup, General Meetings with guest speakers, Spiritual Discussion/Bible Study meetings, Moms' Night Out and Family Social events, Special Occasion Luncheons, seasonal Service Activities, and more!

Membership

Membership in the St. Monica Moms ministry is open to all mothers and expectant mothers. Membership is considered active upon registration and payment of the annual dues for the year, upon which you will be added to the directory to receive communications and activity/event notifications. Membership requirements are as follows:

1) Dues

Dues for the year (July 1 - June 30) are $50. Please see below for instructions on how to register and pay dues.

2) Committee Involvement

Upon registration, you will be asked to select a Committee to support during the year (Social, Spiritual, or Service). Joining a Committee is a great way to get more connected to the women of St. Monica Moms and dip your toe into the planning of our activities and events! We know you are a busy mom, so we appreciate any amount of time you can commit! Our organization, our members, our parish community, and even the local Houston community benefit from what you do here, and our organization depends on the fundraising and volunteer efforts of our members. Examples of contributions may include providing baked goods for the bake sale, donating time to make Advent Wreaths for fundraisers, volunteering in support of Parish or School events, etc.

  • Social Committee: We are the fun moms! Support social activities, such as General Meetings, Moms’ Nights Out, Family Fun events, Moms & Tots playgroup, seasonal luncheons, and the annual Easter Egg Hunt.
  • Spiritual Committee: Support spiritual activities, such as Sacramental and weekly Mass support, celebrating the Feast of St. Monica, Bible Study, prayer requests, sharing spiritual resources, and the annual Advent Wreath sale fundraiser.
  • Service Committee: Support service activities and events, such as clothing, food, and diaper drives on behalf of the Christian Community Service Center (CCSC), supporting mothers with new babies and families in crisis with outreach, parish service projects, as well as our famous SMM Bake Sales.

3) Safe Environment Training

The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston requires that all volunteers complete the Save Environment online training. For the safety of all of our children, Safe Environment training is also a membership requirement for St. Monica Moms. For more on St. Anne’s Safe Environment information, click here.
